Golfers compete in Octoberfest Golf Day at Graceland in Secunda

Golfers were in full swing at the Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club greens to compete in the Octoberfest Golf Day on October 19.

The competition was a four-ball alliance, with two scores to count. First-place winners were Abrie van Sollenveld, Jaco Breytenbach, Kenneth Mabuza and Khubula Mawils.

Second place were William van Mierko, Rene van Mierko, Anton Bosnjar and Mato Duvrjak. In third place were Japie Lamprecht, RJ Haagner, Werner Boshoff and Monty Pienaar.

Johnny van Jaarsveldt, Francois Posthumus and Peppie Petherbridge were fourth. Fifth place went to Pine Pienaar, Nelson Duarte, Leon de Beer and Hannes Grobler.

The novelty prizes were:

• Nearest to pin, on hole 6 was Marius van Biljon.
• Nearest to pin, on hole 15 was Hannes Henderson.
• Nearest to pin, for two on hole 18 was Jaco Marais.
• Nearest to pin, for two on hole 2 was Ronald Katz.
