Young Govan Mbeki music producer nominated for SAKHA Awards
Ndalwenhle Ndlovu hopes to represent his community at the awards ceremony, scheduled to take place in Durban on November 21.
Secunda aspiring music producer Ndalwenhle Ndlovu, known professionally as Uncle Malacosta, has been nominated for the South African Kasi Heroes Awards 2026.
The 18-year-old artist from Govan Mbeki Municipality hopes to represent his community at the awards ceremony, scheduled to take place at the Protea Hotel on November 21.
Ndlovu’s musical journey began in 2022 when he started producing hip-hop with his brother, before moving into Amapiano in 2024.
“Initially, music was simply something I enjoyed doing for fun. However, as time went on, my passion grew, and I began connecting with other people in the music industry,” said Ndlovu.
These connections have led to collaborations with artists and producers, including Slik Keyz SA, Jay Missle SA, and Ez B33Q.

“I am working towards new musical projects, including a two-step collaboration with an established artist, which I hope will help me grow further in the industry,” Ndlovu said.
His efforts have earned him a nomination in the Best Producer of the Year category at the SAKHA Awards 2026, after he achieved second place in the producer rankings prior to shortlisting.
“The recognition has encouraged me to continue pursuing my ambitions and take my music career more seriously,” he said.
Ndlovu noted that building a sustainable career in music requires patience, hard work, and perseverance.
“My dream is not only to succeed as a producer but also to proudly represent Govan Mbeki Municipality and encourage other young people who aspire to achieve something meaningful through their talents,” said Ndlovu.

He added that success can start with small steps if young people remain committed to learning and taking advantage of opportunities.
As he prepares for the ceremony, Ndlovu is appealing to community members, local businesses, fellow musicians, and well-wishers to assist him in raising R4 000 to cover transport and accommodation costs.
“For me as a young music producer, attending the awards would be a chance to celebrate my achievement, represent my home town, Secunda, and connect with others in the creative industry,” Ndlovu said.
“I hope and believe the community will stand behind me as I take this step in my musical journey.”
