Cast your rod at fundraising fishing competition at Grootdraai Dam

The Secunda Round Table 231 and Laerskool Trichardt invite you to a fishing competition at the Grootdraai Dam Boat Club near Standerton on November 30.

The competition is a fundraiser for Laerskool Trichardt’s hostel. The tickets cost R300 per person, R150 per junior angler and R50 per person for non-anglers.

You can expect fantastic cash prizes, with the first-place prize of R20 000 for the biggest fish caught on the bank.

The second place has a prize of R10 000 and the third place R5 000.

The prize money for the kids is R3 000 for first place, R1 500 for second and R1 000 for third and up to 10th place.

R10 000 is up for grabs for the biggest bass caught. Camping spots are available at your own cost.

Rules:

• Anglers are allowed to camp on the Friday.
• The gates will open at 04:30. Lines in at 06:00. Lines out at 15:00.
• Weighing will close at 16:00.
• Two rods maximum per angler. A maximum of two hooks per rod.
• No canoes, bail boats, or fishing drowns allowed.
• No dead fish will be weighed. Live fish will be returned to the dam after weigh-in.
• A pen will be drawn at the clubhouse to indicate the fishing spot.
• Right of administration reserved.
• Alcohol or drug abuse will not be tolerated.
• The judges’ decisions are final.
• Anglers can win more than one prize.
