The men beat her husband unconscious and then took her to a church building where they raped her.

A 35-year-old woman from eMbalenhle will never forget being repeatedly gang-raped by three men in a church in eMbalenhle.
The victim told Ridge Times that at about 02:00 on the morning of November 2, she was walking with her husband in the street when three men attacked them.
The men beat the husband unconscious and stole his cellphone and cash. The victim said the assailants then took her to a church building in Ext 17, where they gang-raped her until around 04:00 in the morning.
“They then began to argue about what was to be done with me because it was already daybreak. Two of them wanted to kill me, but the third wanted to take me to his house to continue to rape me,” the traumatised woman recalled her ordeal.

When the woman noticed people sitting outside a house along the route, she pulled free and ran to them.
“I told them the story while the suspect was busy shouting that I must come back because he was waiting for me. The suspect fled when the people approached him.”
