RJ Jacobs triumphs at the Afgri Bronkie Classic
More than 230 golfers took part in this event.
The prestigious Afgri Bronkie Classic, held at Bronkhorstspruit Golf Club on November 15 and 16, saw a spectacular display of skill and sportsmanship as 235 golfers from across the country competed for top honours in this flagship event.
In a thrilling conclusion to the two-day competition, RJ Jacobs emerged as champion, posting 66 points (IPS). Jacobs’ performance was exceptional, demonstrating his sharp precision and strategic play on the challenging course.
His victory marks a career milestone, having topped a competitive field and secured the coveted title. Petrie Strauss, another strong contender, finished second with 64 points.
Strauss showcased a consistent game throughout the event but could not outpace Jacobs in the final stretch. However, his performance was commendable, and he proved himself a worthy rival for one of the most demanding courses in the region.

Tied for third place were Andrew Botha and Strauss, both finishing with 64 points. Botha’s solid play throughout the weekend earned him a well-deserved spot on the leaderboard, while Strauss’ consistency helped him maintain a top-three position.
The 2024 Bronkie Classic was more than just a competition; it celebrated golf and community spirit. The event brought together players of all skill levels, and spectators, who were treated to thrilling rounds of golf with numerous memorable shots and moments.
