Blood service launches Red Saturday Big Bleed campaign
Donate one unit of blood and save three lives.

The local branches of the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) will be launching its Red Saturday Big Bleed campaign on November 30.
The aim of this campaign is to collect at least 5 000 units of blood nationally to help to relieve the added pressure on the blood supply over the upcoming festive season.
Thandi Mosupye, SANBS’s spokesman, said Red Saturday forms part of the SANBS’s summer campaign which aims to raise awareness about the importance of regular blood donations, encourage first-time donors to make donating a lifelong practice and educate the community on the benefits of giving blood.
“Red Saturday focuses on the ultimate Black Friday special,” said Mosupye.
A donor can save up to three lives by donating just one unit of blood.
Join the SANBS at Secunda Mall or eMbalenhle Mall on November 30 between 09:00 and 16:00 to donate blood.
