Dancers haul in medals at champs

Julie-Ann’s School of Dance students competed recently in their last competition of 2024 at the BodyWorX Dance Championships in Witbank.

Students from Julie-Ann’s School of Dance (JSD) recently competed in its last competition of the year at the BodyWorX (BWX) Dance Championship in Witbank.

Hailey van den Berg took the overall win in the disco style. Mia Peens was the overall junior winner for freestyle and Zuandri Joubert was the overall senior freestyle winner.

Special awards went to Mia Peens for stage presence, Van den Berg for most versatile dancer and Donna Scott for joy of dance.

The JSD students also won the following:

• Peens: Ultimate gold award;
• Van den Berg: Gold and silver award;
• Joubert: two gold awards; and
• Scott: silver award.
