Accused in eMbalenhle man’s murder are to reappear in January
Nhlanhla Nkosi (29), Mandla Skhosana (29), Sibusiso Skhosana (32) and Seun Mbendzi (34) face charges of kidnapping and murdering Sfiso Khubheka.
On November 11, the Evander Regional Court postponed the case against the four accused in the Sfiso Khubheka murder case to January 23.
Nhlanhla Nkosi (29), Mandla Skhosana (29), Sibusiso Skhosana (32) and Seun Mbendzi (34) face charges of kidnapping and murdering Khubheka.
Khubeka’s body was found in the Roodebank Dam on April 30 after being reported missing on April 21. His hands were bound with cable ties, and a large rock was tied with rope to his legs. His car was found abandoned on Old Bracken Mine Road.
All the accused were denied bail when they appeared in court on November 6. When delivering his judgement, magistrate Cornu Roos said all accused are flight risks.

Roos said the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Melusi Mthombeni, had testified that accused number one (Nkosi) and two (Mandla Skhosana) were arrested while trying to flee to Swaziland.
The magistrate said according to Mthombeni, Nkosi and Skhosana were arrested on the N17 and their passports were found in their luggage. Mthombeni told the court they were arrested at about 03:00.
When the court asked where they were going at that time, their attorney said they were going to collect money in Bethal from someone owing money to Nkosi, who is a loan shark.
Mthombeni disputed this, saying the duo were on their way to Swaziland because they knew he was looking for them.
Their case was then referred to the regional court.
