Colonel Khuselwa Matrose is new eMbalenhle police commander

She took over the reins from Colonel Maggie Mbokane who acted as the eMbalenhle Police Station commander following the retirement of Colonel Maria Sibanyoni on June 28.

Colonel Khuselwa Matrose is the new eMbalenhle SAPS station commander as of December 1.

She took over the reins from Colonel Maggie Mbokane who acted as the eMbalenhle Police Station commander following the retirement of Colonel Maria Sibanyoni on June 28.

Matrose began her police career as a constable at the Leandra Police Station in 2005. She was later promoted to the rank of warrant officer and became a media liaison officer in Leandra.

In 2012 Matrose was given the rank of captain and transferred to Val Police Station as the station commander where she worked for three years until she was promoted to lieutenant colonel.

Matrose returned to Leandra 10 years later as the Leandra Police Station commander after four years of serving at different stations within the Secunda cluster.

“I want to involve our community in fighting crime by participating in community policing programmes, the police Youth Desk and spiritual services. My approach is to get the eMbalenhle community to join the fight against crime through the CPF structure.

“eMbalenhle is big. We urge residents to join the men and women in blue in their fight against crime. They are free to come to my office if they face challenges at our community service centre,” said Marose.

Matrose said the community may call her on 017 631 8289 or on 082 565 7503.
