Almost 100 take part in latest Standerton parkun
People of all ages take part in events countrywide each Saturday. The set-off time is 08:00.
It was business as usual for 2025 on January 4 when the Standerton parkrun’s 280th event lured 98 participants to the Riverpark.
Dennis Kumm with a time of 37:26 and Danie Botha with a time of 41:43 respectively improved their personal best times on the 5km route.
Teenager Bongane Mpokane finished the parkrun in a time of 18:59, followed by another youngster Kaywen Human in a time of 19:14.
Crossing the finish line in a time of 20:40 was Marno Oosthuizen, followed by young Thabo Patrick Tsotetsi (21:59), Timothy Hoop (23:00), Eugene Viljoen (26:01), Deon Steynberg (26:51) and the first girl, Mbali Nkutha (27:08).
The volunteers who made this event possible on Saturday, were Renette de Sousa, Nadine Hoop, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Parth Jayram, Richard Mabaso, Ronnie Moodley, Vanita Moodley, Krishnalal (Johnny) Ramdharee, Marion Jean Robertson, Zeldine Strydom, Charl van Wyk, Leandri van Wyk and Noluthando Zweni.
