Pageant crown comes within reach for Valtaki advocate
“This journey forces me out of my comfort zone and challenges me personally and mentally.”
Saninke du Rand, a 41-year-old Valtaki resident, took a leap of faith and entered the 2025 Mrs South Africa pageant.
She advanced to the semi-finals and is now one step closer to the crown. An advocate by trade, Saninke told the Streeknews she has a home office in Valtaki, from where she specialises in contract law.
“My work is my passion. I practice as a corporative advisor and am a GBV activist and advocate. I call myself a proactive legal consultant who tries to proactively avoid problems rather than fighting them,” said Saninke.
Saninke is married to Leon, a financial and procurement specialist analyst, and they have two children, Zoe (nine) and Stian (five), both learners at Laerskool Du Preez van Wyk in Bronkhorstspruit.
“Oh yes, and five dogs and three donkeys,” Saninke added.
She loves animals and will participate in the Wet Nose sleep-a-thon during March. Saninke calls herself an extrovert who is social and jovial.

“I draw my energy from people. I love new challenges and do not back down on an adventure.”
Asked why she entered the pageant, Saninke replied, “What started as a great idea one night at midnight turned out to be the best yet. I did it out of curiosity and self-empowerment.
“This journey forces me out of my comfort zone and challenges me personally and mentally. This is an opportunity to become the best version of myself.”
Saninke’s message to the women who read the Streeknews, “If everyone else can, why can’t you? Do not let yourself be your own stop street – jump.
“You never know what life has in stock for you, so have your lipstick ready and your head held high. ‘My optimism wears boots and is loud’, a quote by Henry Rollins, motivates me.”
