Equestrians from Secunda shine in first qualifier
The first qualifiers recently took place in Badplaas, Kyalami and Sasolburg. In the core league in Badplaas, Shaylin Bekker (5) and her pony Twinkle came first place in performance riding and enjoyed two first places in the prix caprilli category.
Equestrians from the Peraldi Equestrian Centre and Riding School recently competed in the first of four qualifiers to represent Mpumalanga, in the South African National Equestrian Schools Association (SANESA) championships later this year.
The first qualifiers recently took place in Badplaas, Kyalami and Sasolburg. In the core league in Badplaas, Shaylin Bekker (5) and her pony Twinkle came first place in performance riding and enjoyed two first places in the prix caprilli category.
They also obtained two second-place wins for dressage. Mickah Grobler (8) and her horse Seghar came first in equitation and enjoyed two-second places in dressage.
Lienke Buccholz (9) and horse Kiara took first place in the category of working riding and two third place in dressage.
Holden Venter (9) and his horse De La Rey received two first-place spots in dressage, two third places in prix caprilli and first place in 50cm show jumping.
Brendan Venter (13) and horse Satyn celebrated two second place spots in dressage. They also came first and second place in the category prix caprilli.
Leané Schwartz (14) and horse Faith celebrated the first and second place in prix caprilli. They also managed first-place wins in dressage and a first-place in performance riding.
Abby Vertue (15) and horse Alabama were first in dressage. They also received second place in working riding, first in 70cm show jumping and first place in equitation.
Schuané van Tonder (17) and horse Fabio received two eighth places in dressage, fifth place in prix caprilli and third place in performance riding.
In the Kyalami core league, Iva Smit (9) and horse Romeo received two first-place wins in dressage and another two first-place wins in prix caprilli.
Competing in Sasolburg in the Western Mounted Games were Josua Jansen (15) and horse Langa and Bismarck Jansen (17) and horse Caramelle.
Bismarck competed in level three of the third qualifier and came first place in the SANESA and second place in the open.
In the fourth qualifier, he came first in the SANESA and second in the open.
Josua competed in level two of the third qualifier and finished first in the SANESA and seventh in the open. In the fourth qualifier, he took first place in the SANESA and ended fourth in the open.
