GMM’s Tshidi sets new record in long jump

High school athletes represented their municipalities in the Gert Sibande District Municipal High Schools Athletics meeting held at Lillian Ngoyi Stadium in Secunda.

Govan Mbeki Municipality’s Tshidi Makgato from Hoërskool Hoogenhout set a new record in the long jump for girls U19 at the Gert Sibande District Municipal High Schools Athletics meeting on March 1.

The meeting was held at the Lillian Ngoyi Stadium in Secunda. Tshidi improved the old record of 5.71m to 6.16m.

High school athletes competed in track and field events while representing their municipalities GMM, Dipaleseng, Lekwa, Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme, Msukaligwa, Chief Albert Luthuli and Mkhondo, at the Lillian Ngoyi Stadium in Secunda, on March 1.
