“With a packed grid of 56 cars and drivers, the event marked the opening of what promises to be an exciting season of motorsport action.
“Known as South Africa’s premier motor track racing series, the Vilaca Racing Time Attack offers a unique platform for drivers to push their limits, showcasing their skills in a controlled and safe environment,” says Jono Vilaca, founder of Vilaca Racing.
The emphasis on fastest lap times over traditional racing formats means competitors can race the clock without the pressure of collisions.

This inaugural round saw some impressive performances, with standout vehicles and drivers taking centre stage. One of the event’s most inspiring stories was that of JP Glad, who was named driver of the day.
Despite recovering from a medical procedure just a week prior, Glad showed remarkable determination, racing with heart and grit.
Round 1 was a resounding success, with safety and sportsmanship at the forefront.
Zero incidents were reported, reflecting the high standard of organisation and the commitment of both drivers and event organisers.
