Golfers compete for the top spots in golf club championships
Local golfers were in action at Walker Park Golf Club and Bethal Golf Club to compete in the annual club championships held on March 15.
Ardent golfers competed in the annual golf club championships at Walker Park Golf Club and Bethal Golf Club on March 15.
Walker Park’s Jacques Erasmus was the men’s A division winner on 76 gross. Second was Leon Muller on 78 gross and Lundre Spangenberg on 80 gross.
In the men’s B division, Peppie Petherbridge was first with 85 gross. In second place was Sean Boyce on 89 gross and AT van Jaarsveldt on 91 gross.
Jaydee Pruis was the men’s C division winner with 105 points. In second place was Jacques van Tonder with 98 points and Hannes Gertzen third with 104 points.
Deane Jansen was the women’s A division winner on 97 gross. The women’s B division winner was Rosemarie Rudolph with 97 gross.
Ella Smit was the women’s C division winner with 89 points. Onto Bethal’s greens, Gert van der Merwe was crowned the club champ on 135 gross. Tobie Oosthuizen was the B division winner with 85 points. Christa Prinsloo is the women’s champ with 72 points.
