EFF members and family demand answers on missing person cases
If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Khumalo, contact SAPS on 017 647 1288.
eMZINONI – EFF Councillors of wards 11, 23 and 24 and family members of missing person Nkosinathi Khumalo (40), were protesting outside the police station today, March 28.
The protesters demanded answers from the police regarding Khumalo’s missing persons case.
Khumalo went missing on March 20, 2023, during the EFF National Shutdown.

His last known whereabouts were on the Bethal N17 road.
“We took the representatives to the boardroom to give them clarity. Feedback will be given as the matter is still under investigation,” said Serg Cynthia Mtshweni, spokesperson for eMzinoni SAPS.
According to Mtshweni a search of the area was conducted with the K9 unit the day Khumalo was reported missing.
“The family were also taken to the Evander mortuary to see if the missing person was there. The search went even further to eMbalenhle, but to no avail,” said Mtshweni.

Mtshweni said eMzinoni SAPS did all they could to assist the family in the search for the missing person even though the matter was out of their jurisdiction.
She said that even though Khumalo was an eMzinoni resident, the case should have been reported to Bethal SAPS because that was his last known whereabouts.
She praised eMzinoni SAPS and Serg Detective Mluleki Methula for assisting the family with the search and going the extra mile.
