SAPS arrest Delmas Taxi Association trio
The Honda Civic apparently chased a civilian car, which had allegedly picked up a hitch hiker
An incident involving a silver Honda Civic was reported to the Delmas Police on March 14.
The driver of the Honda Civic apparently chased down a civilian’s vehicle for allegedly picking up a hitchhiker in Delmas town.
The Honda also apparently pushed other road users off the road.
According to Captain Carla Hartley, the spokesperson for the Delmas SAPS, the victim was assaulted and taken to the taxi rank, where he was forced to pay money to get himself and his vehicle released.
The Delmas SAPS and the Nkangala District team arrested three people claiming to work for the Delmas Taxi Association (DTA).
The police also seized the Honda Civic.
The trio, Kwanele Mazibuko (25), Khanyisani Zondo (31) and Sizwe Ntuli (31), appeared in the Delmas District Court on March 17, which postponed the case to March 19, on which day the magistrate denied the trio bail.
They remain in custody.
