Standerton parkrun draws 70 participants
Athletes are welcome to join next parkrun this Saturday.
The Standerton Riverpark parkrun celebrated its 291st event on March 29. The event drew 70 athletes. Three runners attained new personal best times, and there were five first-timers.
Pieter Jansen van Vuuren was the first registered athlete to complete the run in 23:32.
Pieter Ignatius Jansen van Vuuren completed the run in 25:54, followed by Eugene Viljoen (25:59), Parth Jayram (27:03) and Kevin Armitage (29:19).
Richard Wicht finished the 5km track in 29:25, followed by Ellie Canning (29:47). Ruwan Vermaak celebrated his 25-run milestone.
The volunteers who made the event possible: Charl van Wyk, Daniel Wright, Jennifer Naidoo, Krishnalal Ramdharee, Leandri van Wyk, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Noluthando Zweni, Priscilla Ramdharee, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Strini Naidoo and Sylvy Moodley.
The parkrun takes place every Saturday at 08:00 in the Standerton Riverpark.
