Newborn’s body at Bethal morgue still unclaimed

The heartbreaking discovery of an unclaimed newborn boy’s body at the eMzinoni dump site in February remains a mystery, as police urgently appeal for any information to help identify the infant or those responsible.

The body of a newborn boy found on the eMzinoni dump site in February, has still not been claimed. A scavenger found the tiny body on February 20.

When police responded to the scene at around 19:10, they found the baby’s body dressed in a white gown, placed inside a plastic bag.

The Bethal Forensic Pathology took the body to the morgue.

Police are urgently appealing to the public for any information that could help identify the baby’s family or witnesses who may have seen the dumping.

Alternatively, information can be reported directly at the eMzinoni Police Station, located at the corner of Victor Khayiyane and Simunye Street, Cow Village. All information can be provided anonymously.
