SAPS hosts Safer Easter operation in Charl Cilliers
The SAPS are pleading with the community to respect the road rules.
It was a good start to the SAPS Safer Easter operation that began on April 4, where officers arrested one motorist for drunk driving and three motorists with fines.
The SAPS are pleading with the community to respect the road rules.
They said motorists needed to be more aware of their reckless and negligent driving and not to drive when under the influence of alcohol.
During the operation, the SAPS introduced the crime prevention officers (CPO) to the community, hoping the community would welcome and respect them as they assist the SAPS in fighting crime.
SAPS also warned local farmers to be alert for stock theft.
They also cautioned the community not to leave their houses unattended to avoid house burglary during the holiday.
