Cullinan CPF recovers stolen bakkie

After 21:00 the stolen vehicle again triggered the LPR cameras, leaving the Cullinan area via the R513.

ECHO 1 security alerted the Cullinan CPF on the evening of May 12 about a stolen Toyota Hilux bakkie. The bakkie triggered the license plate recognition (LPR) cameras in Cullinan.

The Cullinan CPF Community in Blue Patrollers responded, but the vehicle disappeared. After 21:00, the stolen vehicle again triggered the LPR cameras; this time leaving the Cullinan area via the R513.

Cullinan CPF Community in Blue Patrollers spotted the stolen vehicle going into Mamelodi East.

The patrollers followed the bakkie from a distance while awaiting back-up. When back-up arrived, a chase ensued over a distance of 85km through Mamelodi, Silverton, into the Pretoria CBD and back onto the N4.

The CPF Community in Blue members and Tshwane Metro Police finally intercepted and stopped the bakkie on the N4 at Donkerhoek.

They recovered the stolen Toyota Hilux bakkie and arrested two suspects.
