GMM signs MoU for infrastructure pilot project

This agreement marks the launch of a pilot project under the Adopt-a-Municipality initiative – a first-of-its-kind national programme led by Infrastructure South Africa (ISA).

Executive Mayor Nhlakanipho Zuma of Govan Mbeki Municipality signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 9 with Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guest House in Pretoria.

This agreement marks the launch of a pilot project under the Adopt-a-Municipality initiative – a first-of-its-kind national programme led by Infrastructure South Africa (ISA).

The initiative aims to improve municipal infrastructure through rapid interventions, addressing common challenges such as cost overruns, poor artistry, and inadequate planning.

Similar MoUs have already been signed with Metsimaholo Municipality (Free State) and uMngeni Municipality (KwaZulu-Natal).
The programme is expected to accelerate infrastructure delivery and uplift communities across South Africa.
