Lekwa’s chief financial officer resigns

According to Lubabalo Majenge, communications officer for the LLM, Vukosi Nkhata strengthened the LLM's internal control systems.

Vukosi Nkhata, chief financial officer for the Lekwa Local Municipality (LLM), resigned from her position, with her last day in office on June 30.

During her more than a year at the LLM, Nkhata made valuable contributions to the financial department, establishing systems that provide efficient financial management.

According to Lubabalo Majenge, communications officer for the LLM, Nkhata strengthened the LLM’s internal control systems.

“She implemented oversight and governance that culminated in maintaining a qualified audit opinion and and laid a foundation to further strengthen the developed systems,” stated Majenge.

Rethabile Masikane has been appointed as acting CFO while recruitment to fill the position is underway.

During her farewell celebration, the municipality expressed gratitude to Nkhata for her immense contributions and professionalism.
