Woman sustain injuries when two vehicles collide at intersection in Delmas

A woman was injured and rushed to Bernice Samuel Hospital after a delivery truck allegedly skipped a red light, causing a serious crash in Delmas this morning.

A woman was rushed to the hospital in Delmas this morning after a truck collided with the bakkie she was driving.

The accident happened at around 09:50 in the R50 / R42 intersection.

The delivery truck loaded with hay bales allegedly skipped the traffic light, causing the woman in the Toyota Dakar bakkie to crash into it – the truck rolled and landed on its side.

Emergency workers tended to the woman on the scene before transporting her to the Bernice Samuel Hospital.

The driver of the truck is uninjured. All emergency services are on the scene and traffic is flowing, though slowly.

Motorists are cautioned to drive safely as recovery of the vehicles is in process.
