The Evander Magistrate’s Court postponed Sifiso Khumalo’s murder case to August 11 for the forensic results. Khumalo was arrested in connection with the murder of Dibuseng Madela (34).
Madela was found dead at Ext 21 in Kinross. Police were called to a gruesome scene where Madela’s body was discovered in a pool of blood, with bloodstains visible on the walls.
According to the police report, she was stabbed in the chest and had sustained visible head injuries, allegedly caused by bricks. Emergency Medical Services declared her dead on the scene.
A clinic card found nearby confirmed that Madela was six months pregnant at the time of her death. Khumalo was arrested the same day while trying to flee to Johannesburg.
Nomvula Mayisa (17), Khumalo’s stepdaughter, was found dead inside a locked shack on May 28.

According to the police report, the girl had been missing since May 23. Officers were asked to search a house linked to Khumalo, who had been arrested the same day for murder in an unrelated case.
They found the doors and burglar gates locked. They forced it open to gain entry and discovered the naked body of a young girl, believed to be the missing teen, in a semi-decomposed state in the bedroom.
They found her on a bed, covered with blankets, her legs open. She had severe head injuries, including a deep wound and a crushed forehead.
The police suspect she was raped before being killed. Officers found a bloodstained pipe wrench (bobbejaan spanner) next to the bed and believe it was used in the murder.
Preliminary investigations indicate the victim had recently argued with her stepfather, Khumalo, over his plans to sell the shack previously owned by her late mother. The teen had reportedly objected, concerned about where her younger siblings would then live.
