Sasol in Secunda gives back for Mandela Day
Several day care centres and other places will receive food parcels.
Sasol employees donated some of their time on July 17 by packing food parcels at the Sasol fire station in celebration of Mandela Day.
This year’s theme for Sasol’s Mandela Day project was ‘Celebrating 10 Years of Good: Bridging the Gap, Nourishing Communities’.
Sasol identified areas where people urgently needed food relief parcels, especially in areas affected by the withdrawal of international NGO funding. These areas include Bethal, eMbalenhle, Leandra and Charl Cilliers.
These parcels will be handed out at various places, including God is Love Multipurpose Centre, Shining Stars Day Care Centre, Siyacathula Day Care Centre, Siyacedana Day Care Centre, Success Day Care Centre, Thubelihle Day Care Centre, Uthandolwenkosi Day Care Centre, Entle Day Care Centre, Imphumelelo Day Care Centre, Little Angel Day Care Centre, Mahlubi Day Care Centre, Reratile Day Care Centre, Lesedi Day Care Centre, Ongeziwe Day Care Centre, Scelimpilo Early Development and Childcare and Sthembiso Sabasha.
Sasol partnered with the non-profit organisation Sizani to implement the initiative. Not only did Sasol employees in Secunda participate in this initiative, but also those in Sasolburg, Durban, Germiston, Sandton, and Ekandustria near Bronkhorstspruit.
