Many attend SAPS recruitment drive in Standerton

Many hopeful residents flocked to the Stanwest Community Hall and Standerton Town Hall to learn how to be considered for this opportunity.

The SAPS are recruiting entry-level police trainees. Captain Mduduzi Hlubi, human resources practitioner for the SAPS in Nelspruit, travelled to Standerton on July 16 to address the community and explain the application process.

Many hopeful residents flocked to the Stanwest Community Hall and Standerton Town Hall to learn how to be considered for this opportunity.
Hlubi explained that thousands of applications have already been received to fill the 5 500 available spaces.

“Don’t let the number of applications discourage you. These vacancies are open to anyone, from anywhere,” Hlubi said.

The purpose of this recruitment drive was not only to inform the community about the application process, but also to recruit underrepresented groups into the police service.

According to Hlubi, these underrepresented groups include Indian, white and coloured South Africans between the ages of 18 and 35.

Applications closed on July 18.
