Caregivers learn through play in Cullinan

The programme began at Cullinan Library Park on August 4 and ran for a full week.

Caregivers in the Cullinan area are being equipped with new skills to help children learn through play, thanks to the Caregiver Learning Through Play (CLTP) 2.0 programme from HOPE worldwide South Africa.

The programme began at Cullinan Library Park on August 4 and ran for a full week.

During this time, caregivers took part in three fun and interactive training sessions, learning how to turn everyday moments into opportunities for children’s development, particularly in their first five years of life.

Each participant will receive a certificate, educational play posters and two books to help them continue learning activities at home. The training also encourages caregivers to form parent forums to support one another and exchange ideas.

Councillor Johannes Bekker attended the training week and said the CLTP 2.0 programme showed how communities can work together to give children the best possible start in life.

Bekker praised the caregivers for their dedication.

“You are shaping the future by raising strong, confident boys and girls. Stay motivated and keep working together for a better tomorrow,” he told them.
