Soup kitchen in Standerton asks for donations

The Kasselman Security Soup Kitchen is in need of supplies to continue the hard work they do feeding the community.

The Kasselman Security Soup Kitchen fed 358 vagrants on August 21, fulfilling its community responsibility by providing meals to less fortunate residents.

On this day, the menu included the usual flavorful chicken stew with pap and a pizza dough roll donated by Debonairs. Over 300 women, children, and other individuals could look forward to a warm meal, many of whom only receive food once a week at the soup kitchen.

The soup kitchen is in dire need of supplies to continue its work. According to Yolandi Kasselman, the organisation needs Styrofoam containers and 250ml cups to hold the food and drinks they distribute.

They also require spoons, spices to enhance the meals, and concentrated juice. Donations can be dropped off at the KSS office. Individuals willing to contribute can also call the KSS landline at 017 200 1407.
