VIDEO: Parents demand answers about the alleged rape of a girl at primary school in Bronkhorstspruit

The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Ekangala is investigating the case.

Angry parents and residents of Bronkhorstspruit crowded in front of a primary school in Bronkhorstspruit this morning (September 1) to demand answers after a nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped at the school on August 12.

The station commander of the Bronkhorstspruit Police Station, Colonel Simon Dhladla, addressed the crowd later in the morning.

He said a 9-year-old girl reported being raped in a bathroom at the school at around 07:00 on August 12. The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Ekangala is investigating the case.

Dhladla said there is apparently another victim, but the parent is reluctant to open a case. He said this afternoon that a suspect has been arrested. This man will appear in court on Wednesday.
