ATMs bombed in eMba and Charl Cilliers – link in two cases not yet confirmed

No one has yet been arrested.

The police have yet to confirmed if the armed attacks on two petrol filling stations in the Govan Mbeki municipal area during early morning hours are connected.

Carl Cilliers police spokesperson, Sergeant Nompumelelo Dlamini, said it was around midnight when five people wearing balaclavas and armed with two rifles robbed a local filling station of an udisclosed amount of money and then blew open the ATM.

The robbers also stole the money from the ATM and then fled the scene on foot. Only a few hours later, armed men blew open the ATM at the eMbali filling station in eMbalenhle. They too fled on foot.

No one has yet been arrested.
