Learner from eMbalenhle takes second in district public speaking

Alan Makhunga Primary School learner Siphesihle Nxumalo secured second place in the IsiZulu category at a district public speaking competition.

Siphesihle Nxumalo, a Grade Six learner at the Alan Makhunga Primary School in eMbalenhle, made her school proud after winning a trophy and a certificate at a public speaking competition in Ermelo on September 4.

Siphesihle won second place among all primary schools in the Gert Sibande District Municipality, competing in the isiZulu category.

The competition, aimed at promoting public speaking skills among grades Six and Seven learners, included participants from across the district in all languages.

It began at the school level, where each school selected one learner per grade to represent it at the circuit stage. Siphesihle excelled by winning at the circuit level, which earned her a spot at the district finals, where she claimed second place.
