SHS Rugby girls show how its done

The SHS girls’ 7’s rugby team competed in the Mpumalanga Girls’ 7’s Series first round on September 13. The U16 team finished third overall in the round, while the first team ended fourth overall.

The second round took place on September 20 at Hoërskool Sybrand van Niekerk in Sabie, where Angel Nxasane was selected for the U16 Elite Player Development Squad.

This marks the first time in history that SA Rugby will be hosting a girls’ team for the Elite Player Development Camp, which will take place in Paarl in early October.

Sean Erasmus and Katlego Lynch, former SA Schools head coaches, will oversee the training for the girls’ teams.
