With this edition, the Streeknuus has has reached the end of its lifespan. For decades, the Streeknuus has faithfully served the communities of Delmas, Bronkhorstspruit, and the surrounding areas.

“Sadly, the impact of a struggling economy has resulted in the closure of the Streeknuus and this final edition,” said Marietta Lombard, Caxton’s editor-in-chief for Greater Johannesburg.

“We assure our readers that every effort was made to prevent this outcome. We thank our readers and advertisers for their loyalty, and we say to all whose stories we have shared: know that your stories will forever remain part of our journey and archives.”

Arisja Misselhorn, editor of the Streeknuus, will miss the communities that made the publication so unique.

“Although I have only been involved with the Streeknuus over the past five years, I have come to love the vibrant arts community of Rayton and Cullinan, as well as the many friendly and interesting people of Bronkhorstspruit.

“The community of Delmas always amazed me by the way they stood together to make Delmas a better place for everyone. Rest assured, I plan to continue the friendships I have built during this short time.”

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
