Writer from Standerton releases new book

This is the fifth book out of Ishara Pillay’s pen.

Local award-winning author Ishara Pillay recently released her new book, The Gentle Giant of Thundergrove, and hosted a book reading at Standerton Primary School on October 25.

Children created masks based on characters in this fun children’s novel for a competition, where five lucky winners won memorabilia on the book’s cover page.

The signing also had a lucky draw, and one child won a copy of The Gentle Giant of Thundergrove, as well as a social media draw.
According to Pillay, this draw was from online entries. The parent who gave the best post could win a copy for their child.
