Standerton’s crime fighters come out tops at awards
The Standerton SAPS won station of the year at the Gert Sibande Excellence Awards.
The Standerton Police Station won station of the year at the recent Gert Sibande Excellence Awards held at the Graceland Hotel, Casino, and Country Club in Secunda on November 28.
Kasselman Security Services (KSS) received a certificate of appreciation and a trophy at the event.
Brigadier Winnie Mavuso emphasised the vital role that security companies play in supporting local law enforcement, particularly in high-crime areas.
“Partnerships like the one with KSS are the cornerstone of visible policing and rapid response,” stated Mavuso.
KSS received the certificate for its commitment, which has led to several arrests and prevented serious incidents.

In recent years, the Gert Sibande District has placed growing emphasis on collaboration between the SAPS and accredited private security firms. This strategic partnership forms a key part of the district’s efforts to combat crime.
Rina Kruger, a KSS representative, said the award belongs to every member of the KSS team that works to ensure safety in Standerton communities.
“Crime affects everyone, and when the private sector and the police work hand in hand, our towns and rural areas become harder targets for criminals,” stated Kruger.
These awards showed the excellence that can be achieved when the private sector and police force work together.
