Bikers attend toy run in Standerton

The 10th annual Lonebuddies Toy Run was a success, toys will be distributed to local children.

The Lonebuddies Motorcycle group hosted its 10th toy run in Standerton on November 29 at Engen Meyerville to gather toys and school supplies for children in need.

According to Lizaan du Toit, the Toy Run was a success despite rain threatening the day. Several motorcycle clubs travelled from afar to attend the event.

Locals opened their hearts and donated many toys to the cause. Gerhard Joubert entertained patrons at the Toy Run with his guitar, singing everyone’s favourite hits.

SANBS collected 27 pints of blood on the day, three pints more than the previous year.

A stationery outlet in Secunda donated school supplies to the Toy Run. The toys and stationery will be distributed to local children in need.

“We thank every stallholder, big or small, for contributing to the day’s success,” concluded Du Toit.
