Court intermediary from Evander wins prestigious award

Thembi Msibi, the Evander Magistrate’s Court intermediary and supervisor in the family section, was honoured at the fifth annual South African Heroine Blazer Awards recently held at the Pretoria Freedom Park Hotel.

She received her white blazer, honouring her commitment and outstanding work in the legal space, women’s development, community service support programmes and hosting community outreach initiatives this year.

According to Msibi, the court allowed her to grow, develop and be visible and approachable to the community in need.

“Honestly, my hard work comes with gratitude. My 10 years of experience as a court intermediary contributed positively to the woman I am today.

“The Evander Magistrate’s Court has allowed me to contribute positively to society and focus more on providing impactful services to the public and society we serve.”

This award is not just a blazer for Msibi, but a call to continue striving for peace and child protection and to stand against GBVF.

In her spare time, Msibi is a director of the Women Navigating the Future Network, where she leads social impact programmes and implements justice services within the network of many stakeholders.

“I am also an ambassador of the Nomkhubulwane cultural group, encouraging girls to choose themselves first and encouraging boys to respect and protect women,” said Msibi.
