Hoogies hosts night race in Bethal

There is a 10km run for the more experienced athletes and a 4.9km fun run for the others.

Hoërskool Hoogenhout and the Bethal Marathon Club will host the Lights, Laces and a Touch of Hollywood night race on February 25.

Anyone, from runners and walkers to families, is welcome to join the event that will start at the school.

The organisers encourage athletes to dress up like a Hollywood character. There is a 10km run for the more experienced athletes and a 4.9km fun run for the others.

Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category, and also to the best-dressed athlete. Athletes are reminded to wear headlamps and reflective gear.

Apart from the race, spectators can expect a festive atmosphere, with a tuck shop and food on sale. Entry fees are R80 for the 10km race, R60 for the 4.9km race, and R50 for a temporary licence.
