Dra Mekaar members return for monthly social gathering in Secunda

This was the first Dra Mekaar meeting for 2026.

Dra Mekaar members returned for its first social gathering of the year on January 21, at the NG Kerk Goedehoop Gemeente.
Sarel Erwee opened the meeting with prayer.

Chairperson Eileen Bezuidenhout discussed the annual calendar, reviewing projects and welfare organisations Dra Mekaar plans to support throughout the year.

She also expressed excitement for a year of musical entertainment, sports and fitness activities, guest speakers, and the annual De Voetpadkloof holiday.

Special outings at selected venues for occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day will be announced.



Birthday wishes for January were extended to Eileen Howell, Girly Stoltz, Roedolf Jansen van Vuuren, Luicinda du Plessis, Lucia Wels, and Elbie Oosthuizen.

The next meeting will be on February 4 at the NG Kerk Goedehoop Gemeente. Dra Mekaar is a growing social group with 81 members.

It is a platform for retired and senior people to meet, socialise, and form friendships through its twice-monthly gatherings, activities, and community projects.
