Old man allegedly shoots neighbour in dispute over water in Eloff

A water-related dispute between neighbours in Eloff turned deadly on February 8, with a man shot and killed, and a 70-year-old suspect arrested.

A dispute between neighbours over water has turned deadly in Eloff yesterday (February 8).

According to Thia Botha from the Facebook page Delmas-wil-Weet the incident happened at around 15:00.

“According to information received, a man was shot in front of his wife and children following an apparent argument related to water.”

He was declared dead at the scene.

A 70-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is expected to appear in the Delmas Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
