The man was found dead with visible injuries to his head and toes in a hit-and-run incident on the Standerton road on December 5.

Police need the public’s help in identifying an unknown African man who was killed in a hit-and-run incident on December 5, 2025
His age is estimated between 29 and early 30s.

On the morning of the incident, at around 04:00, police received a call from community members reporting an unknown man lying on Standerton Road.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the dead man’s body next to the side of the road. Injuries to his head and toes were visible.

The police also found vehicle parts scattered on the road next to the deceased.

He had no form of identification on him. He was bare-chested, wearing only blue tracksuit trousers and many traditional bracelets.

Anyone with information to help the police identify the deceased and locate his family or relatives can contact Detective Constable Bheki Mavimbela on 079 021 6958 or 086 001 0111. Alternatively, use the MySAPS app.

The police further urge the community to report to them if any family member goes missing, and to do so as soon as it is realised that the person is missing.

There is no set time that must pass before a person is reported missing.
