Sakhile Rise walks for funding

This 509km journey led participants to Nelspruit.

Sakhile Rise hosted a charity walk and cycling event, during which several fitness enthusiasts took on the long road from Standerton to Nelspruit.

Beyond promoting a healthy lifestyle in rural areas, the walk aimed to solicit training for rural learners from previously disadvantaged schools in Lekwa. Sakhile Rise aims to develop plans to promote cultural arts and indigenous games in these communities.

The first leg of the walk took Sakhile Rise to Johannesburg, where they sought training for young learners. They then departed for Nelspruit, where they sought funding for their short- and long-term goals.

This 509km journey was not for the faint of heart, but devoted teams at Sakhile Rise took on this challenge with the hopes of creating better futures for the next generation of rural learners.
