13 set new personal best times at parkrun in Standerton

This Saturday, the parkrunners who completed the 337th Riverpark parkrun in Standerton totalled 97, of which 13 set new personal best times.

The number of people getting their move on at the weekly Riverpark parkrun on Saturday mornings has significantly increased since the dawn of 2026.

Whether it was the sunny mornings or the implementation of New Year’s resolutions, the past few events attracted more than 100 parkrunners weekly.

This Saturday, the parkrunners who completed the 337th Riverpark parkrun in Standerton totalled 97, of which 13 set new personal best times.

They are junior runner Onalerona Thobedi (23:56), Lesney Molepo (37:45), Ilana Beyneveldt (41:17), Benjamin Hermans Beyneveldt (41:18), Judith Magdalena Kruger (41:20), Anneke Gelderblom (43:56), Mthembu Hlehle (44:21), Mischke Timmerman (46:13), Chantel Prinsloo (50:49), Gallie Prinsloo (50:50), Faith Mkhonza (52:00), Linda Dhlamini (53:21) and Zamahlubi Tshabalala (55:45).

A regular at the parkrun, young Bongane Mpokane (17:42) was again the first to finish the run, followed by two unregistered runners.

The registered finishers of the 5km route and those who followed in their stride are Thobedi, with his new best time; Eugene Viljoen (24:34); Elihle Zikalala (25:03); Ayanda Dlamini (27:38); Simon Ntuli (30:20) and Sanele Mkhaliphi from the SA Pride Running Club (30:33).

The volunteers who made this event possible: Koos Grobler, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Danie Laufs, Susan Laufs, Sylvy Moodley, Johannes Vosloo, Riekie Wolmarans and Daniel Wright.
