Karatekas compete in Mpumalanga Karate Championships in Secunda

The Mpumalanga Karate Championships held at the Sasol Recreational Club on February 7 served as the provincial trials, and advancing students will now compete in nationals.

Karateka students competed in the Mpumalanga Karate Championships held at the Sasol Recreational Club in Secunda on February 7.

The championships also served as the provincial trials.

Students from Universal Shotokan Karate Union – USKU (Secunda, Kinross and eMbalenhle), Shotokan Karate International-South Africa Three Swords (SKISA), Ermelo Karate Academy, Densetsu, Universal Shotokan Karate Union Mpumalanga Karate School of Champions and Samurai Dojo competed in the day’s event.

The winners of this day’s event will go through and represent the province at the nationals.

Senior students who advance will compete at the nationals in Pretoria from February 27 to 28. Advancing junior students will compete in Durban from March 6 to 7.
