WATER CRISIS: Residents gather at Govan Mbeki Municipality

Residents are at GMM offices for a council meeting to express their frustration of not having water.

Residents, who have been waiting since 09:00, are finally allowed to enter the municipality’s gates.

They took part in a peaceful protest, and are attending today’s council meeting to express their frustration of not having water.

Initially, only a restricted number of people were allowed to enter the council chambers. Councillors had to intervene by talking to GMM officials to allow more people in.
