Discover the hidden stories behind your valued treasures when expert visits Standerton

Special events will be held at Dandelion-J venue and eatery at 55A Beyers Naude Street on March 27 and 28.

From the moment heritage collector Christo de Winnaar held his first old coin nearly two decades ago, he knew collecting was more than a hobby – it was a way of preserving history.

Each coin, bank note or war medal carries with it a story of the people who used it, the times they lived through and the legacy they left behind.

That passion has grown into a lifelong journey for De Winnaar. Today, he continues to collect and share the value of these items, not just for their material worth, but for the history they embody.

“Meeting new people, hearing the stories behind their heirlooms and uncovering the origins of forgotten treasures is what makes this pursuit so rewarding,” explains De Winnaar.

Now De Winnaar is bringing this passion to the community of Standerton with special events from 09:30 to 15:00 at Dandelion-J venue and eatery at 55A Beyers Naude Street on March 27 and 28.

Buyers and collectors will gather to explore old coins, bank notes, war medals, vintage jewellery, silver cutlery and more.

Whether you are a seasoned collector or simply curious about the heritage hidden in your drawers, this is your chance to discover the stories your items could tell.

“If you cannot attend, home visits are an option – because every item deserves to have a story heard,” said De Winnaar.

Whether it is a faded bank note, a medal from the Anglo-Boer War or a family heirloom tucked away in a drawer, your piece of history could be the missing chapter in someone’s collection.

De Winnaar may be contacted on 083 892 7949.
