Emergency services responded to an accident along the R580 (old Winkelhaak Mine road) last night, March 22 at around 23:40.

The vehicle was found in the field on fire and the driver with severe burns not far from the burning vehicle.

The man was stabilised on scene by emergency services before being rushed to hospital.

Emergency services escorted the ambulance to Mediclinic Highveld Hospital in Trichardt.

He will be airlifted to another hospital for further medical treatment. The cause of the accident is unknown.
