Youth unite in Rooikopen Hall for a vibrant celebration of Human Rights Day
The event featured an incredible lineup of performances, including traditional dances, cultural groups, gospel music, and amapiano dance crews.
The Our Treasures Youth Choir, founded by Tshepo Mdawene, hosted a powerful event at Ext 4 Hall, bringing together local youth and talent to celebrate Human Rights Day on 21 March.
The celebration was a showcase of unity, diversity, and the resilience of young people in the community.
The event featured an incredible lineup of performances, including traditional dances, cultural groups, gospel music, and amapiano dance crews.
The talented performers included Our Treasures Youth Choir, Amavikela Mbuso Cultural Group, Dinaledi Tsa Koeneng, Amaphilanga Cultural Group, Amalanda Amhlophe Cultural Group, Ovuthel’Umlilo Cultural Group, Dinaledi Tsa Bokamoso, Naledi Mphatlalatsane, Inhlalakahle Cultural Group, Artist KKB, Gasela Eric Goss, Pre-Dope and Ladygent amapiano dance crews from Standerton.
Special guests, Bakgethwa Bamodimo Gospel Choir, brought the audience to their feet with their soul-stirring voices, while local youth showcased their talents in music, dance and cultural expression. Youth activist and creative Anele LastBorn Cele was also on hand with Mr Madla, Theatre director and writer, inspiring the crowd to be agents of change and encouraging the performers on their talent.
The event aimed to promote unity and empower young people to reflect on their rights and responsibilities.
“It was a day to celebrate the spirit of Human Rights Day and to inspire young people to make a difference,” said Mdawene.
