Suspects in Mkhwanazi’s murder apply for bail in Standerton Magistrate’s Court

The suspects will hear on September 14 whether their applications were successful.

The Mbhokane brothers, who abandoned their bail application previously, applied for bail again the past week.

A source said sworn submissions to support their bail applications were presented to court.

The suspects will hear on September 14 whether their applications were successful.

It follows the murder case of Surprise Mnqobi Mkhwanazi, who went missing on July 18.

Information suggested that he was kidnapped and police investigated.

His body was thrown into the Vaal River.

Sthembiso Mbhokane, Bafana Mbhokane and Sibusiso Radebe were apprehended in connection with the murder.

Several appearances in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court have since been made.

Surprise Mnqobi Mkhwanazi went missing on July 18.

The Mbhokanes’ bail application was cancelled and they remained in custody, while Radebe is out on bail, on certain conditions.

Radebe has to report to Sakhile Police Station twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.

According to the source, there is no new evidence.

The Women’s League of the ANC from Thuthukani demanded earlier in August that no bail be granted.

Protestors from the league were in front of the court again on September 8, opposing bail.

A court appearance is also scheduled for September 29.
